Solution to bug WP 2.6 for the templates of Pages

1 comment | August 29, 2008

The version 2.6 and 2.6.1. WordPress has a bug when you go to create a new page, shows no templates or templates for your theme, nor any drop-down menu in the bottom section of Advanced Options.

image

I found 3 solutions, a strange, and another one on php, which I have worked, CSS:

  1. In WordPress.org suggests a solution to this bug still not resolved. A strange solution but it has worked to some, this is to change the theme for another and reconnect to change in this way will re-read the directory of your theme and display templates.
  2. In Frozr pose another solution is to edit the file in the directory wp-admin edit-page-form.php Specifically change the value 0 to a higher value, for example 110:

    if ( 0 != count( get_page_templates() ) ) {
    function page_template_meta_box($post){
    ?>

  3. As I do not have worked either of these two solutions I saw that they were the Advanced Options for editing pages, simply did not work on Ajax to deploy so they always for just showing off the property that the hidden file wp-admin.css directory wp-admin:

    1169. #poststuff .closed .inside {
    display: none;}

Dear Adobe ... New site to complain about the software from Adobe

1 comment | August 26, 2008

In less than 48 hours the site Dear Adobe has attracted the interest of itself as Adobe announced its creators, Erik Frick and Adam Meisel on the blog site.

Dear Adobe (Dear Adobe) tries to collect the complaints from users of various products from Adobe and recorded on the Top 50. The user makes a claim and the other negative vote, or positively consider inappropriate. At the time I made some proposals for the next CS4, for the moment the complaints are more for the operation of the software and price to improve characteristics.

These are the 10 most voted for the time being, has no waste:

Dear Adobe: Top 50

  1. (+112) Please cut out the crap DRM, and price your products reasonably.

    Please cut the crap of DRM crap, and put price your products reasonably.

  2. (+108) Why does the Acrobat Reader take two minutes to launch, and require updates twice a month, just to display PDF pages?

    Why Acrobat Reader takes two minutes to boot, and requires updates twice a month, only to display pages in PDF?

  3. (+108) Please create an installer that puts your software on my computer in less time than it takes to install an operating system.

    Please create an installer to put its software on my computer in less time than it takes to install an operating system.

  4. (+106) Sort out your god-awful installers. Why do I need to close my BROWSER when installing a graphics application? I'm using it, dammit! Not least to give me something to do while eons pass and your installers dawdle along.

    Determine your horrible installers. Why do I need to close my browser to install a graphical application? I am using it, damn it! I need something to do while ...

  5. (+105) Your installer is the worst piece of software on the planet ... well, actually, your updater is worse. For the love of all things good, fix it.

8 Generators buttons online

Add comment | August 25, 2008

A listing of web applications to generate buttons, menus or icons, designs and not very original may seem low in most professional, but if yours is not the design or if you're looking for is so simple that you do not want to run Fireworks or Photoshop points:

I've ordered more professional, more basic:

  1. http://jirox.net/AsButtonGen/ (many choices)
  2. http://www.buttonboost.com/startweb.html (with navigation buttons)
  3. ht tp: / / proboards.pixeldepth.net / Button_Generator / (few options, adds an icon of www.famfamfam.com to generate a PNG)
  4. http://www.buttonator.com (generates rollovers)
  5. http://www.buttongenerator.com/ (menus with votes from users)
  6. http://cooltext.com/

The best freeware software to capture screens | Gadwin PrintScreen

Add comment | August 24, 2008

I've tried many applications and extensions for Firefox for catching displays, for the time being I liked most is Gadwin PrintScreen (2.75 MB)

It allows:

  • copied to the clipboard and / or save the file in various formats,
  • rename automatically
  • set the shooting mode,
  • and the key (default is "Print Screen")
  • image resizing,
  • add water mark,
  • capture the cursor or not,
  • specify a destination ...

The only thing that does not allow for the freeware version is the edition of the catch but you can indicate which application to open the capture or pay for the professional version: Gadwin PrintScreen Professional

Create and edit templates for WordPress from Dreamweaver | ThemeDreamer

1 comment | August 24, 2008

ThemeDreamer is an extension to Dreamweaver that facilitates the creation and editing of templates or themes for WordPress. They offer a demo for 15 days after signing up, the price is $ 29.95

Normally we do is install a WordPress on a local server and go touching the CSS, PHP pages separately to achieve what we want. The advantage of this extension is that:

  • combines the files Dependent,
  • Option (Live View) WYISWYG editing the theme in a much simpler,
  • Special labels WP (WordPress Template Tags, Include Tags, and Conditional Tags)
  • it also hints on the syntax and parameters of WP.

Here I open the file single.php and as I see the issue in light design combined with all files:
