Create your own Web 2.0 logo with Fireworks
For this tutorial you need:
- Macromedia Fireworks (preferably version 8 or MX 2004)
- Basic knowledge of the program
Ready? Ok .. begin!
Create a logo with text to which we will give you a style "webdospuntocerezco."
- We opened the Fireworks
- In a new file write the text you want (you choose the font, size, color, etc.), in this case the text will be: "My First Logo"
- You pick the text and right click on the text choose the option "Convert to Paths" (Ctrl + Shift + P), this will convert the text into curves.

- And taking curves in the text is important "to unite" all the letters of the word as a single curve, which, with the selected text, go to menu "Modify" and select the option "Combine Paths / Join" (Ctrl + J).

- The next step is to implement the "gradient" to the text on curves. You may also use the colors to taste. The recommendation is to use a base color, in this case, a light green color and the alternate, more dark green. Note that the gradient is applied uniformly throughout the text. If it has not been combined in the text curves, the gradient would apply individually for each letter, which is not a desired effect in this case.

- The gradient can be applied from top to bottom, or vice versa, depending on the effect you want to achieve.

- Additionally we can add text to the effect will be following these simple steps. Select the text created so far and duplicate (Copy - Paste for example). Place it directly under the text Today inviértelo and vertically (Flip Vertical) with the "Modify / Transform / Flip Vertical."

- Once doubled and invested, we proceed to create a text box that will cover the lower invested. We select the Rectangle tool (U) and draw a picture covering the aforementioned party. Once achieved, we apply a gradient from white to black in this box the same way that we apply the gradient in step 5. Planco Note that the portion of the gradient must be at the top and the black on the bottom.

- Time to "mask" the text box at the bottom with gradient just draw. For this, we select both, the text box below and (eye box should be in a layer above the text, ie it must cover completely). Let to menu "Modify / Mask / Group as Mask." Now notice that the text is less blurring down, which is the effect that achieves the mask of the gradient from white to black.

- To enhance the effect, reduce the opacity of the text than just mask. This is unpalatable, but it is suggested for this case, an opacity of between 40% and 50%.

- We are almost ready, some suggest that a logo, or in his absence, any element or site that meets the "parameters" of Web 2.0, should be BETA!. Let us then a logo "Beta". Use this to any font with a color contrast and make a certain type the word "Beta" with a font size smaller than the one used for the logo itself. For example:

- And ready! Then you can export preferably as a JPG, as the degraded require greater amount of colors for display optimally. From now on you can experiment with other elements to which they can give the effect Web 2.0, which is nothing more than the rational use of degrading and the Beta tag ... of course, also be a fashion trend with this.
