Our friend John Davies, the creator of great courses in Videotutorial format goes one step further in the e-learning. Since his country, the Dominican Republic, will provide an online course on web design.
The technology already allows:
- John can do demonstrations on your computer while you to look in yours, and you can ask, these events are taped live for those who can not attend in person.
- Chat sessions
- Remote support, let John see your screen and you resolve any doubt
- Vbush pre-recorded to follow the course.
- And all the elements of synchronous and asynchronous communication in a structured way magnificently.

Right now are 6 days and 8 seats. All the information got on this link:
http://expression.com.do/cursoadistancia/
The course costs $ 150 but John made a 15% discount for the first 3 users who are aiming through this link, ie 127 $:

Seizing the entire screen of a user is only possible if we use designs or layouts liquid or elastic. The key is to set the widths in relative units: ems or percentages instead of pixels and forgive the repetition, the percentage of sites designed in this way is minimal. Users will not notice this unless they change their computer or need to shrink the browser window.

Comparison
- With designs that are fixed or static for deciding what resolution to work and the answer is usually 1024 x 768 resolutions for both couples leave too much about white and 800 x 600 horizontal scroll appears cumbersome.
- While design with a liquid or elastic harness the full width, we avoid the scroll horizontally and make the web less high to higher resolutions.
The reason for this is that we see the number of users with lower resolutions to 1024 x 768 is becoming smaller, only 8% of Internet users as W3C have a resolution of 800 x 600 but returning to the subject of percentages, 100 users visit if you're uncomfortable to 8 but if you're talking about 100,000 visitors care to 8000 users, customers or readers, as you call but in the end who is destined for your design.

And as browsers continue to head in IE7 and IE6

It's striking is the owner of Digital Web Magazine: "Everything You Know Is Wrong About CSS."
And is that Internet Explorer 8 will support the CSS properties table table-row and table-cell Buried forever the outdated HTML tag <table> and will make it much easier to design with CSS layouts.

Great news but because they were designed to be taken into account all browsers and their versions.

In the category Best Blog Design (aspect of the blog) have been submitted 2144 blogs. Today, October 31 and end point of the deadline for voting is still a lot of discussion with the voting system and classifications.
The system proposed by 20minutos is fair, democratic, the problem lies with the participants, only those who have registered can vote. Many have been exchanged or sold their votes in exchange for links or have voted in a friend without seeing the rest. This is of course legitimate, as in any democratic vote, each with their vote does what he wants.
The jury awarded another prize among the 5 first classified in each category.
It is difficult to make a fair vote, the only way is to visit the 2144 blogs. I'm leaving my eyes to try to make that fair trial, not only in this category but in the rest, all of whom are involved in another category.
This article lists the blogs that have at least 2 votes according to the current classification Oct. 31. To supply the task of the vote I leave with you a snapshot of them.
Those who do not concursáis you can not vote in 20minutos:
- Blogging in itself but there is no category of Best Design perhaps to find any other category,
- You can also leave your opinion
- and probably give you notice that there are blogs that objectively not deserve the positions they occupy. I respect them all because in principle they are not guilty of that they have voted, I say in principle because they have promoted their vote in this category through the exchange or unethical practices, then yes, they do not have my respect as a blogger.
For obvious reasons I have not published the 2144 although I know that there are good designs with 0 votes but because I want to be as objective as I can keep these blogs.
My criterion for voting in this category would be:
- Original: many themes, or templates used by third parties, therefore the award should not fall on them but on the author of the template.
- Usability: If you walk into a blog and you get lost, there is no hierarchical organization, white, and so on.
- Compatibility with browsers and resolutions: Many designs are not shown the same on all browsers, at least it would have to visit them in IE, Firefox and Opera on Windows XP. Regarding the resolutions very few are suited to resolutions like 800 x 600, despite going down the number of users with this resolution, there is still a high percentage (check your stats)
- Accessibility: Neither the websites you have by law to comply with the accessibility standards comply but would not be bad to be valued sites that put its commitment in his blog that is accessible to more people.
- Speed Cargo
- Aesthetics: perhaps that's all we can say, yet not being designers, which will have more weight in the vote: use of color, typesetting, layout, graphics and so on. It is said that tastes nothing about writing but there are certain criteria.
Characteristics of catches:
- Browser: Firefox 3.0.3 without toolbars
- OS: Windows XP
- Resolution 1280 × 960
- Resized a 300px wide by maintaining the ratio.
- Made with Fireshot
These 64 blogs that have received at least 2 votes (31/10/08)

I use the extension Web Developer to test Web sites to 800 × 600 and 1024 × 768. I always have in mind these resolutions, and forgotten by many, my statistics tell me that I still have many visits to this resolution.
Project Self explained in Spanish the article Firefox Facts where he proposed another way: by creating a bookmarklet, a marker with the javascript can also indicate the position of Firefox on your screen.

According to the Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 Web colors front and background should have enough contrast to read easily by people with visual difficulty.
At Jucy Studio there is an online tool to test a combination of colors. Insert the hexadecimal values, the formula used will tell you whether it is appropriate, accessible or in other words if you have enough contrast or not.

To use Web-types that are not sources of system we can use sIFR3 in anieto2k find another method based on javascript, without Flash, typeface.js
The method uses the ability of drawing vector browsers:
To use it in addition to call the javascript files (download) uses the method class, style to define what text should be drawn by what typography.
Like any other javascript if it has disabled the browser simply displays the source system indicated by CSS or use the default navegdor.
In favor of sIFR3 I must say that the texts remain texts, selectable, with typeface.js texts become images.

If you want to put a text box where a textarea the user to move the mouse over select all the text that includes, for example, the link to your website, simply adds:
onMouseOver="this.focus()" onFocus="this.select()"

I start with my recondemación and with the latest developments:
- Pingdom Tools can see the loading speed of your web but also see broken down all the details of this file by file. Among its functions can also filter the information on weight archiving instead of by time.
- Webwait is another site that measures the speed of your site, the difference is that it makes you more and calculates the average.
But these two tools are not the only aid we have to reduce loading time, these items are useful for optimization of the loading of your web:
