Thomas Herbrich | The king's photo
Thomas Herbrich is a talented photographer, creator of effects in films such as Independence Day and Godzilla. Was not done in the Mecca of film so I chose to devote himself fully to photography.
Advertising agencies are their biggest customers, as he creates about 20 pieces a year. His peculiar way of working is not like we thought at the beginning from the computer, but uses it mainly does a great job of the first photograph which then assembles them in Photoshop.
On its website, we can see two portfolios and also the "Making of ..."
A couple of examples:
Elephants on the Bridge

This work was a campaign for a cement company, is obviously a photomontage with a mock-up of 3 meters high by 5 wide.
To achieve the realistic effect created something of fog and blur, as he puts it lowered its quality at an amateur level to make it credible.

Mercedes soap road

This road was made of soap with 2000 pills (occupied the space of one double bed) photographed several times and at 1:2, then the car in the study.
He says the smell of soap in the study it lasted a week.

Chicago Flood

This flood is a personal work of Thomas. On a day photographed the model, to Chicago and around waterfalls, day and a half ended in the assembly.
Hephaistos

Another work of his staff serire Olympia, 3 photographs, a model of the head of the dragon, model and fund Athenian. The effect of the flame created it with talcum powder and Photoshop.
Also a very interesting series of cigarette smoke:
