Como colaborador del nuevo proyecto wiki de Gizmo Richard y su impresionante trabajo analizando el mejor software gratuito en best_46_free_utilities se me ha asignado la categorí­a de Los mejores editores HTML gratuitos.  Como el sitio es en inglés de momento, lo he traducido.

Los diseñadores y programadores profesionales se decantan por el uso del software de Adobe, Dreamweaver y como opción gratuita muchas veces utilizan un simple editor de texto como Notepad. Con el advenimiento del XHTML y CSS sí­ podemos encontrar ventajas utilizando software que los combine, el XHTML semántico ha dejado todo el trabajo de diseño a los CSS y exige que cumpla los estándares de validación más comunes.

Digamos entonces que hay 3 categorí­as: editores XHTML, editores CSS o la combinación de ambos. Lo ideal además es que integraran un gestor FTP, previsualización en distintos navegadores, generador de meta-tags y que permitiera una edición básica de imágenes.
